Like a farmboy raised on sweetcorn, I was a homeboy raised on stories and memories; some sweet and some, not so sweet.
So now and then, I travel back to the past, back to memories and back to myself.
The past is significant. It should be woven into the fabric of the present and the future.
It keeps me grounded and offers a sense of belonging that can be lacking in a world which is constantly drifting.
Here I am in a place of my early beginnings listening to story after story and memory after memory; some of which I no longer recall.
As the years go by, our recalling of past events and stories becomes fragmented.
And it is through the humanity of people we grew up around, like this lady, helping me to recall the past, that we become whole again.
