FATHERS ARE RUNNING AWAY
Fathers are running away.
They may not come home
This Christmas.
Stuck in a never-ending cycle of poverty, and multiplying misery, fathers are running away.
They can no longer look into the sad eyes of children constantly begging for food, sympathy and care.
Tormented by the burden of inadequacy and worthlessness, they run away.
As cocks crow at dawn, children wake up to find something missing in their homes.
That rousing voice urging them to wake up, and prepare for school.
Instead, it is mothers with quivering lips who wake them up to break the sad news:
Papa has gone away
Poor papa has ran away
That may well be the end of their education.
The beginning of their own cycle of destitution.
But at Caprecon Foundation, we may be able to ensure that there is no disruption to their education.
Because education is the only antidote to their poverty.
So we try very hard to fund their education and help their mothers to start a trade or acquire skills.
You too can help a child whose education is about to be disrupted because of runaway fathers.
You can support mothers to start a trade or learn new skills, and be able to send them back to school.
We want to appreciate the efforts of Sister Onemena Antoinette of the Catholic Church in Nassarawa for working with us in this regard.
